Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most commonly asked questions about Synergy Hockey Management’s services, including player representation, academic guidance, and career development in hockey.

  • Synergy Hockey Management, founded in 2025, was built to help athletes navigate important decisions in their playing careers and lives. As the sporting landscape is continuously changing, families are often left guessing what is the next step in their players’ sport and academic journey. Our team, backed by experience within minor, prep, junior and collegiate sport, is here to help you make decisions that are developmentally appropriate for the athlete and family.

  • We do not believe there is one “correct time”. For some, this will happen prior to entering high school. For others, it takes place prior to the jump to university or junior hockey. Others may choose to not. We respect the decisions made by families, as everyone has a different path. Synergy Hockey Management works to promote players within their league and to prospective coaches and teams, while navigating tough decisions on what is best for an individual player's development. We recommend reaching out to our team to begin the process, whether that becomes immediate or future player representation.

  • After initial email inquiry, the process begins. We will organize a free consultation to understand your current situation, future hockey goals, and academic background. This will allow the Synergy Hockey Management team to better understand how we can help you.

Should there be a mutual fit, we will proceed to create a roadmap of shared goals and objectives. This will be followed by our formal agreement for player representation services.

  • Synergy Hockey Management will not guarantee any placements. We caution families to be weary of coaches, programs or other advisory services that guarantee junior signings, college commitments or professional contracts. The landscape is constantly changing, such as through eligibility or staff changes, limits on import players, or program funding. There is never a “guarantee”, no matter what level a player is at. However, our large network of contacts can help to find a fit that is developmentally appropriate for you, while aiding your personal growth.

  • This varies, but typically would consist of an advisor communicating your schedule to our contacts, watch game film, being available for questions, and fielding any calls from potential teams. Our team also will perform video review of game film, aid in goal-setting and reflective practices, and be an overall support to the family.
